Car Sharing

With the gradual rising of congestion in the roads of both the developed and developing countries the concerned officials are getting worried that even during the excessive rush during the day time or better to say in the office hours there happens to be the existence of a great number of empty seats in the individually owned cars. The scene is quite disturbing since due to the non-availability of cars the commuters throng in the streets resulting into the longer duration of the traffic snarls. In this excessive situation there happens to be only one solution, the concept of car sharing. This innovative notion is further advocated by a recent research where it is explicitly said that approximately over 50% of the general commuters prefer to share the cars while going to the work, provided if they could find someone suitable to share with.

Though car sharing has often been considered but has been adopted as a small-scale solution. But now it is the time for the governmental organization to give a due concern to this aspect. If the concept takes a prominent role in the midst of the society and everyone shares a journey to work for just once in a week. It shall bring a new sensation in the society elevating the bond of coordination at an all time high with substantially reducing the jam at every traffic checkpoint.

Then why this idea has not been cropped up? It is true that the benefits of car sharing have often been vastly underestimated. It reduces in a great amount the petrol consumption for the individuals involved, and if promoted in a large scale by the initiative of the government it can be plausible towards the significant reduction of congestion and pollution rendering the posterity a better life. There are also other benefits that include the substantial reduction of parking problems and the lower mileage done by each car means that they decrease in value less rapidly.
